This video shows how fear, avoidance, and lack of honest communication keep us from moving forward, how it paralyzes and makes us unhappy. By being pro-active, and taking action in spite of our fears we can almost always improve our life and our relationships. This is illustrated through the story of an unhappily married woman who allowed fear to control her life and so she avoided her problems instead of facing them. However, only by dealing with what was happening in her life and understanding her anxieties, she managed to make progress and choose honest communication instead of avoidance, therefore improving her life.
Being pro-active means anticipating, taking control, and acting in the now in order to make the most out of future events. Yet, many of us become avoidant in our life. A major reason why this happens is that we allow our angst to make the decisions for us. Whether it is fear of the past, present or future, it stops us from acting in the now, and so we choose to keep our distance. Pro-activity takes courage, and in this video we will focus on learning how to address fear, how to change habits, and how to build courage, by analyzing examples of real life stories of people who made the decision to change.
It is time to take a look at your life and take an inventory of the things that frighten you the most about communication. What are your anxieties? Is there someone you are not communicating with? What is stopping you? What are you avoiding? Whether it is something at work or in your personal life, this is the first step to take in order to understand what it is you are distancing yourself from, and start being more honest about it.
